Blue Light Services

When the stakes are high – your people matter most

Emergency services in the UK face a unique combination of challenges. Unpredictability, intensity and complexity creates an essential need for a resilient culture built on trust.

Traditional hierarchical cultures often found in blue light services can be paternalistic, providing less autonomy and therefore less empowerment for individuals.

This combined with a lack of diversity in the workforce and intense team working for frontline staff creates strong sub-cultures.

We work with services to design and deliver:

  • Cultural reviews
  • Cultural and leadership improvement programmes
  • Coaching and staff development programmes
  • Organisational values and behaviour frameworks

Our approach is informed by organisational development best practices, with recognition of sector-wide challenges, tailored to local conditions and aspirations.

Their challenge was always constructive, evidence-based and despite in some cases being difficult to hear, framed in such a way as to motivate and inspire commitment to the actions required. [31ten] are experts in their field. They have the unique skill of being able to explain theoretical management models but more importantly, adjust, translate and apply them in practice.
