ERP Assurance & Programme Readiness
Kent County Council was on the cusp of awarding technology and systems integration contracts for a major ERP transformation. But the Council needed independent client-side assurance: a critical review of their business case, an assessment of programme readiness, confidence in their procurement decisions, and a robust benefits approach to underpin delivery.
The Role
Our team stepped in to provide ERP assurance and advisory support across the pre-award and mobilisation phase:
- Reviewed and stress-tested the existing business case, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and financial rigour
- Assessed programme readiness, identifying gaps in governance, risk management, and resource planning
- Provided independent review and assurance on the ability to award contracts, ensuring procurement processes were defensible and fit for purpose
- Supported programme setup: governance structures, roles & responsibilities, risk frameworks
- Designed a benefits realisation approach, with clear metrics, tracking, and accountability
Key Outcomes
Kent was able to move forward confidently, awarding contracts to De Novo Solutions and Oracle for their ERP programme. Thanks to our independent assurance work, the Council entered delivery with a clear, prioritised set of recommendations and mitigations, reducing risk and strengthening confidence in the programme’s foundation.
