Temporary Accomodation

Reduce homelessness, increase housing supply and improve quality

In 2023, the number of households in temporary accommodation reached a staggering 109,000 – the highest number since records began.

Temporary accommodation is one of the biggest challenges facing councils across the country, with new data revealing that the number of children growing up in temporary accommodation has doubled since 2010.

At 31ten, we combine our experience in designing approaches to prevent homelessness with technical knowledge of how to maximise and develop the supply of housing. Our team has the knowledge and empathy to get into the detail of your challenges and explore holistic solutions tailored to your community’s needs.

Whether it’s redesigning preventative services, demand modelling, undertaking option appraisals or reviewing delivery vehicles, we can design interventions that will make an impact today, but also provide financial sustainability in the long term.

The team at 31ten worked alongside Bristol City Council to engage directly with the local provider market. The team worked quickly to engage with the local provider market and provide a knowledgeable independent voice that facilitated open conversations allowing for meaningful engagement with our established providers and the wider national LD and Autism provider market. We are excited to take this work on and to develop new models of care across the city.
