Consultant / Financial Analyst

Job profile

We are seeking a detail-orientated, curious, self-starter to join our growing team of expert financial modellers, development surveyors and data analysts. The role will focus on modelling the financial impact of projects for clients including property, regeneration, investment, funds and more. There will also be a growing element of non-financial modelling and wider data analysis. The projects you will work on will be highly varied, with work supporting wider 31ten teams adding to this mix.

Key areas of focus

We are keen to speak to candidates who can assist the team in delivering the following services to a range of public and private sector clients:

  • Supporting sound strategic decision making through robust financial modelling of projects, property development, regeneration schemes, joint venture partnerships and investments;
  • Modelling to tackle diverse challenges such as pricing environmental credits, or non financial problems;
  • Support the development of business cases and options appraisals;
  • Deliver effective development management, development viability advice and project management;
  • Develop and present data analytics models to sift through data and identify trends, patterns and forecasts;
  • Develop a strategic approach to securing investment by developing and setting up trading companies, joint ventures and partnerships; and
  • Supporting 31ten’s wider projects and teams with specialist expertise.

The points above reflect our broad-ranging mission, so we don’t expect relevant experience in them all. In fact, our preferred recruits tend to have a focused CV with strong evidence of experience in one or two areas.

About you

Ideally, you will have 3-5 years of experience in one of the following areas and be excited by the opportunity to develop your skills in the others:

  • Property / real estate
  • Financial and data modelling
  • Accounting and finance

  • Advanced Excel skills; with a focus on developing financial models;
  • A basic understanding of statistics and data analytics;
  • A basic understanding of VBA, PowerQuery, PowerBI, Python (not essential);
  • Strong collaboration skills and keen to work as part of a team;
  • Project management and organisational skills;
  • Being comfortable engaging and interacting with clients or keen to develop this skill;
  • Can take responsibility, own elements of projects and self-manage time;
  • Can work flexibly and to deadlines; with a successful track record of contributing to several projects simultaneously;
  • Is keen to support in broader areas such as business development and company-wide initiatives;
  • Has a demonstrable interest in supporting the delivery of places and services that improve people’s lives.
